March 19, 2001.

To the Community of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM): Mexico, Federal District.

Brothers and sisters:

The zapatista delegation of the CCRI-CG of the EZLN which is in Mexico City has received an invitation from workers, students and researchers of the UNAM. They have offered their ear and their university space for the sole purpose of having the word of the Indian peoples heard in the place of higher learning, the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

To all those persons studying in the Colleges of Science and Humanities, in the National Preparatory School, in all the Faculties and National Schools;
to all the professors and researchers who are working in all the different university learning centers and research institutes; to all the manual and administrative workers; to the Workers Union of the UNAM (STUNAM); and to all those persons who sent us the invitation to listen to the indigenous demands, without our asking for any adherence to any political group or specific demands; to all of them, we are saying that we accept, with honor and pleasure, this invitation.

According to the agenda of the zapatista delegation in the Federal District, we feel that it would be possible to make an appearance in University City on Wednesday, March 21, 2001.

We are calling on the entire university community, students, teachers, researchers and workers, above the natural and understandable political and ideological differences, to organize and publicize our visit to the university campus. The EZLN is not with any group, we are with the entire university.

Thank you for the invitation, puma brothers and sisters. On Wednesday, March 21, 23 Comandantes and one Subcomandante, all zapatistas, will be at University City.

Vale. Salud, and yes, the spirit speaks through my race.
